Job Purpose, Duties and Responsibilities of the Post

Job Purpose

Katlego Solutions is a leading technology solutions provider committed to delivering exceptional services to our clients. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join our dynamic team, mainly to assist our customers with technical queries.

Duties/Tasks

The duties include the following, but other duties may be assigned from time to time:

  • Assist in the implementation of IT projects as needed.
  • Install, configure, and maintain systems and applications.
  • Document and track support requests using our ticketing system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to desktop hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Provide first-line technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure a seamless and efficient IT environment.

Job Specification

Essential Requirements of the Post

  • Minimum educational, qualifications and experience that are required to perform the job competently.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
  • 3 – 5 years working experience as a Support Engineer or similar role – Essential
  • N+ – Beneficial
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook)– Essential
  • Enterprise document/content management experience –  Beneficial
  • Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) – Beneficial
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL and Oracle
  • Web Server Knowledge – Essential
