Job Purpose, Duties and Responsibilities of the Post
Job Purpose
The Technician is required to refurbish and repair multi-function printers (MFP), while mentoring the next generation of technicians. This role involves but is not limited to ensuring the quality consistency of the refurbished printers.
Duties/Tasks
- Manage the refurbishment processes from start to finish.
- Perform repairs, maintenance and installation of peripheral equipment.
- Lead hands-on training for learners and Junior Technicians.
- Write diagnostic reports for resolution.
- Accurately provide the information required on completion of any task.
- Troubleshoot and solve issues on the go.
- Managing orders and stock of new equipment, parts, and materials.
- Assist with safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of repaired goods.
- Ensuring prompt and accurate processing.
- Maintain in-depth product knowledge.
- Keeping abreast of the latest technologies and practices in the industry.
- Keep up with the latest tech trends.
- Required to work with customers, including training on products.
- Provide excellent customer support and service.
Job Specification
Essential Requirements of the Post
Knowledge & Experience
- Matric / Grade 12 – Essential
- IT Technician Diploma / Certification (E.g. A+; N+ or MCSE)
- Driver’s Licence and 1-year minimum driving experience – Essential
- Technical experience with MFP/printers (Canon preferred) – Essential
- Working experience on printer and copiers – Beneficial
- Strong understanding of Software and Programs
- Knowledgeable in Networking
